I have the honor to acknowledge your letter of this date, forwarding Lieutenant Labordere's Despatch of the 12th April, and its enclosure, both of which I herewith return to you.
As to Mr. Bridges's suggestions as to the sale and manufacture of Ammunition: one is slightly developed so as to afford the belief that he attached to them comparatively little importance. Otherwise I would remind His Excellency that he has been for some months past in possession of my views on that subject, and that, in the meantime, the Honorable W. T. Mercer, Acting Colonial Secretary...
